Scorpio season is a time of death. The Earth is making ready for the time of darkness, going within, the leaves have fallen to the ground and the once lush trees are barren in the cold wind.

We too make ready for the coming of the darkness, shedding what is no longer needed in preparation for the this deep time of the year. There is so much that is called onto the chopping block during this season, the very balance of what we think and what will be is tested. Sometimes what we truly need is everything to fall away for the highest version of ourselves to emerge from the ashes.

So, the old and unneeded, what no longer fits begins to stretch and become uncomfortable. The layers peeling and falling away from us, each exposed section that comes to light tender, and highlighting old wounds, old issues that now in the darkness that ever deepens.

It is amazing how times of darkness bring so much light, to the hurts, to the shadows and the places that ache in us.

We shed the layers of our womb in rhythyms too, so much shedding Snake Woman moves within us. We are in a constant fluid motion as women, never the same, always releasing and emerging.

Even as those that no longer bleed, they shed in ways we do not see, but the deepness and sacredness is there, the divine communion of what was fallng away like leaves on the Earth below.

Here in these sacred spaces, the unknown is our constant guide and companion. The world does seem to fall away at times, and yet we still remain. We are so much stronger than we think, us The Snake Women, ever-changing, evolving and shifting through the sands of time.

Long may we change; long may we evolve.  Even in the uncertainty of change, we know that what dies comes again in another form. It is written in our bones.

I offer a smudge of cedar and a prayer to the Snake Women of all the tribes of the feminine across the lands. Blessings to you in this time of change and much love to you in every incarnation in this life.

"Mother of the changing skin

Give me strength born from within

From the old I do grow

Evolving in this sacred flow

Shedding all I do not need

Planting now desires seed

Let all that serves my highest boon

Come to me, by sun and moon"
