One of the divine feminine myths that has always called to my spirit has been the story of Lilith. Her tale of being the first wife of Adam and being cast from the Garden of Eden for her refusal to submit has always spoken deeply to my soul.
I was so delighted to discover the book My Name is Lilith by Monette Chilson and illustrated by Arna Baartz.
This authentic deep dive into the heart of the Lilith myth was powerful as it peeled back the layers created by society that colored her as a monster and shine a light on the truth of the woman within.
Instead, we see ourselves threaded within the plight of Lilith and our own humanity mirrored within the pages of Monette's book. We discover a kinship with this misunderstood heroine and that we share so much of her yearning for freedom as she reclaims her own divine feminine myth.
My Name is Lilith is a beautifully illustrated book that would be perfect for those who are wanting to touch deeper into the Lilith thread in a gentle but penetrating way. This book would be amazing for young and old alike.
I invite you to look deeper into this sacred offering here as it is scheduled for release in March 2017 from The Girl God which is home to several powerful publications on the rise and reclaiming of the feminine: http://www.thegirlgod.com/lilith.php
