"If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are — if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that refreshment, that life within you, all the time. When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you. I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be." ~Joseph Campbell

Following our bliss is a powerful thing.

By honoring the truth of who we are and what we want, we set ourselves on an authentic unfolding journey that becomes a blissful experience we call life. Following our bliss is a path of deep trust, that in each step we move forward on this aligned path we are supported in this unfolding. That no matter what, no matter where, if we are moving forward in alignment with the truth of our being, doors will open for us.

Why is following our bliss so important?

If we are following our bliss, then we are tapped into our authentic self, the part of us that KNOWS what feels best. We can flow in the creative, interpersonal, and professional ways that are in alignment with our truth. To follow our bliss is to open up a channel of communication with our deepest truth and give ourselves the permission we've always been waiting for to follow it.

When we live from this authentic place, we find joy in the everyday because we are consciously choosing the activities, people, conversations and projects that resonate with our highest good. We spend our energetic and financial resources in ways that facilitate our greatest unfolding. We spend each day in celebration of all that brings joy to our world.

How can we follow our bliss?

By honoring our truth. Not the truth that others want for us, that our parents taught us, or that society trains us to believe. No. Following our bliss is the path of allowing our authenticity to be our living expression to the world.

This doesn't mean that sometimes we won't have to deal with things that we don't always like to do. Taking out the garbage may not be something that we enjoy, but we do enjoy the result of having a cleaner home. Part of following our bliss is being rooted in a healthy mindset where we can move through less than desirable situations with greater ease because overall we are allowing what feels good.

What does following our bliss look like?

Take the chance that is calling to your heart. Submit that proposal. Ask that person out. Speak your truth. Write that book. Showcase that piece of art. Say how you feel. Go for a walk. When you are inspired to do something, honor the call of your heart and do it.

Following our bliss means not doing what goes against your gut, your heart or dishonors your truth. It means not settling for less, for bad treatment, for games or manipulation. It means loving yourself enough to walk away when your spirit is not being fed.

It takes courage to follow our bliss and open to the unknown path that lies ahead.

We can become comfortable in the patterns that make up our lives. When we are called beyond the confines of the everyday, it can be scary. But from this unknown place can be an adventure that can transform our lives. There is great transformation found when we follow our bliss. It is the path of our greatest and more authentic unfolding.
