The New Moon is a powerful time for beginnings.
It is a time of embracing new projects, ideas, plans, thoughts, relationships and the changes we wish to invite into our lives. It is a time of seeding intentions and opening to the new possibilities that are brought by another lunar cycle.
The New Moon offers us a time of hope, a time of faith and renewal of our commitments. It brings us a fertile place to start fresh and to remind us that no matter what there is always rebirth waiting on the horizon.
It reminds us also to check in with ourselves and to let go of what is no longer in alignment with our path, our purpose and our dreams. It tells us that in order for us to bring all that we want into being, we need to clear away what is no longer serving us and make room for what is to flow into our lives.
Crystals can be a very powerful ally when working with the energy of the New Moon. They can aid in setting our intentions, manifestation, clarifying our desires and deep healing. Here are some of my favorite New Moon crystals and some ways you can connect to their energy during the New Moon.

Clear Quartz: Clear Quartz is a perfect New Moon crystal to use as we set our intentions as it can help us focus. Quartz crystals are such a powerful ally because of the multitude of ways that they can be used. You can use them for programming, clearing, magnifying, amplifying, manifesting, healing, channeling, meditation, dreamwork, divination, protection work, focusing or transmitting.
Black Tourmaline: Black Tourmaline is a powerful stone of shielding and protection. It can dispel negative energy in the environment or help to clear negative energy from the body. It is a very good stone for grounding and for connection with the energy of the Earth. This can be a perfect stone to use during the New Moon when we may look to bolster our defenses or to help us release what is no longer needed on the path towards what we truly desire.
Carnelian: Carnelian is a stone of courage. I can help in eliminating fears, overcoming obstacles and bringing abundance, which is the perfect ally when we set our intentions during the New Moon.
Amethyst: Amethyst is a potent ally for connection to the mind. It is said to help tap us into inspiration, ideas, solutions and help us gain clarity when it is needed. It is also a very powerful ally to protect from negative energy and psychic attacks.

It is a deflector of negative energy and is very popular for use with shielding from bad energy as well as psychic attack and acts as a shield from electronic energy.

New Moon Intention Setting
Write down all of your wishes, dreams, intentions, and desires. Be as specific as you can.
Read your list aloud. You can go outside beneath the sky or you can light a candle inside in offering.
Give thanks to the Universe and the Goddess (or your chosen dedication) for hearing your truth.
Read as often as you are called until the Full Moon and then release the energy in sacred fire trusting in it coming into your life.
You can do this practice with each New Moon. Some people choose to journal them and keep the instead of burning them. Do the practice whichever way you are called. You can add crystals to strengthen your intentions. Charge the crystal with your intended desire and carry with you as a touch stone with the dedication of strengthening your commitment to your intent.
