During the course of our journey as humans, there are many storms we must weather.
Job stress, the economy, family or personal issues. Part of our time on planet Earth is learning to navigate the sometimes choppy waters of the human experience. Is there a port in the storm? Where do we seek solace for our soul when the seas of life are rough? Where is the haven for our weary spirit? Do we reach out or go it alone? Or do we duck our heads underwater and surface again when things are all clear pretending nothing happened?
Being open and connecting when times are rough is a vulnerable thing.
But a valuable and necessary one for maintaining strong, healthy relationships. If we are constantly met with closed doors and hearts when the seas are rough, the relationship becomes detached, disconnected and eroded. Even after many years, when you close someone out constantly, they eventually stop trying to get in. They give up and won't try anymore.
Sometimes no matter how much you try to be there for someone, they will always remain closed.
There are some that will never let you in, no matter how many times you try. We need to decide if it's worth constantly being pushed aside. Yes, some people like to go it alone. But, if you are looking for a open, evolved connection, there will be communication not just being shut down and set adrift without conversation.
Soul deep connections are not only meant for sunny days. Their purpose is evolution and growth, which occurs on rain soaked shores during high tide. We must each of us decide what kind of relationship we are looking for, ones that only see the Sun or ones that weather any storm.
