We are taught to lock it up.
To keep quiet the feelings that we have and not let them have a chance at air and interfere in our lives. It's implied that letting out how we feel deep down inside will rock the boat and be disruptive.
This is a restrictive way to think and where there is resistance there is persistence. What we lock up ends up imprisoning us.
Feeling deep down into the depths of yourself is not weakness; nor should it be hidden, shamed or played down.
Opening the gates to our innermost well and diving into the waters of our spirit is a communion with the self, our truth and our feelings.
To truly know oneself is to embrace and acknowledge the flow of emotion within and bathe unabashedly in its stream. To cut off and dam the running river, is to cut off from oneself.
Your feelings are a flow within you and all they ask is to be heard, to be witnessed, be felt and allowed to be.
Being present and conscious with some of the things we feel isn't easy; but even the things we feel in the darkness have the potential for growth, expansion and a path forward for us.
Diving into this flow is a surrender into yourself, an allowing of all you are to be truly felt.
This is the most sacred surrender on Earth.
