We will not always be here, you and I.
These bodies are not forever and yet we swallow so much thinking we have all the time in the world to do as we wish. We clutch our feelings close to us, trying to obscure them against the very skin that yearns for the touch of them. We silence our thoughts, never giving brilliant ideas the light of day. We bury “I love you”, “I miss you” and “I’m thinking about you” so we don’t seem emotional, weak or vulnerable.
We have few precious breaths on this planet, a finite number of days in which to weave our beautiful stories through the tapestry of time. The soul may live on eternal, but this Earthly form doesn’t. Eventually we all return to star dust once more. We as mortal beings on this planet are here to experience a short-term reality, one that is jam-packed with experiences on this roller-coaster we call life. All the ups, downs and creamy middles are ours to embrace with arms wide open.
So let’s take a vow to plunge ourselves head first into the very world that we are here to experience.
Send oceans of love to those who matter to you, heck send it to the whole world, everyone needs more of it. Share that idea, make that phone call, paint that picture, write that book, have that conversation or take that trip; it could change your world and countless others. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
Take that selfie; show the world what that fierce and vulnerable fire of yours looks like today, in this moment. Take that first step towards the goal that seems daunting, you can do anything one step at a time. Take that chance, make the first move and step out beyond the edges of your comfort zone; it might be scary but it just might be worth it.
Embrace your weird, wild, amazing self and see the mystical magic that only you are here to bring into this world. Kiss passionately, laugh until your belly aches and eat cereal at 10 pm while watching cartoons because you feel like it. Take a drive into the middle of nowhere just to experience what colors are painted on the sunset sky. Have supper in bed, cuddle with your dogs and make a pillow fort.
And say that I love you. I know it always sounds cliché, but this may be the only breath you have to do it.
We are on this planet right now and have this amazing life within our fingers yet to live.
Are you ready? Will you live life to the fullest with me?
