The Sacred Circle

When women gather healing occurs; in body, in spirit, in heart.

To try to describe the impact of a week long sister circle set against a beautiful forest backdrop during the Full Moon is far beyond the ability of the human languages.

There is a transformation that occurs in the very air around you moving deep within the membranes of the body and breathing life into you like you never expected. It moves with you, this flow of energy tapping you into the reality that everything around you is a super charged river of pure potential. And you are immersed in its waves.

There was no competition, no egos, no shaming. Masks and veils left scattered on the floor as we walked in tandem with one another. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. And one I hope every woman on Earth gets to feel. In fact if I had a singular goal, that would be it.

Walking back from a night out beyond the trees I thought of how it must have been so long ago moving along the forest path in some ancient time back from a sacred rite or Beltane dance around the firelight.

Once more we moved through the trees and in between the shadows of time, arm in arm and heart to heart. Every cell in my body knew it would always be this way. Sisters were meant to walk together in this unbreakable bond.

The winds and the rain gathered as did the circle moving among the trees giving life and nourishment to the Earth as we gave the same to one another. As the days went on I could hardly imagine a day that had gone by without these spirits in my life and in my heart, their very presence like a truth serum that moved within me melting resistances and long held barriers.

I thought I had known why I had come.

That I wanted to be a better leader and to hear the teachings of a wise and amazing teacher (and she was beyond incredible).

But the leading that was to be done was in leading me here.

That was the hook, the bait. The real reason was this deep dive into my open heart, into the very tapestry of the divine feminine and into the very threads that move between us.

I thought I was coming here to lead the circle but the circle ended up leading me and healing a deep well within my heart clearing off the dusty compass in my soul and scrubbing the old ways from my mind. Anything is possible now I realize staring at the movement of the towering trees above.

The circle is the teacher.

The experiences you have are the deepest lessons that arise, the wisdom within you is that is infinite and awakening to your now clear eyes. Your knowing is a gift and this ancient knowledge runs in your veins.

The sisterhood is a thousand petal lotus unfolding as each one of us awakening to and revealing our unique medicine to the world. As we each unfold, so do those around us. Shining your light on your sisters encourages them to blossom and grow.

Leaving was harder than I ever imagined.

I kept thinking I saw them all as my journey led me home once more, in the airports, in the streets. But then I realized it was the echo of them in my heart and their sweet spirits singing in my soul.

I thought of the ancients once more and wondered if all sisters through time and space were within once another like this, vibrantly woven through the tapestry of our souls and stitched into the very fabric of or beings.

How do you explain such a life changing training?

It is so much more than a retreat and so much deeper than feminine leadership training. It’s a sisterhood that runs deep and ancient in our very cells that we all carry as a torch in our beings.

Our spirits echo in on one another across the land now scattered, the beat of our hearts a drumbeat rising in the collective song of sisterhood.

I understand now why they can’t find the mythical place of Avalon.

The shores are there but the sisters carry the magic with them in their hearts across the pages of time, the beating the drum to find the way once more to this magic and to this deep well of power.

It never disappeared only moved deeper within for us to carry with us always. I hear your song sisters and I honor it deeply.

We are the Women of the Circle and we are gathering, rising and awakening to be hidden no more.

Long may we dance; long may we howl.
